FirstCyclingDutch.jpg

Lion Mike Layman and Loyal Friend Dutch.  You need not ask.  Dutch was an Airedale Terrier.  Airedales were bred in the 1800's in the Aire River area of Scotland to hunt otters.  They are supposed to swim in the river and approach the otters' den in the steep banks; hence, their long neck, duck feet, and double coat.  Even though Dutch lives on the banks of Otter Point Creek where otters also live, he would try to kiss an otter if he met up with one.  This is a Memorial to Dutch as he passed away from a heart attack on 19 August 2011 chasing a fox he had no intention of ever catching.  We miss him a TON!!!  You can see another Memorial at Dee's Flowers and Gifts, downtown Aberdeen.
